This rustic Hawaiian Heritage Box is made from solid spalted mango from a downed tree in Waimanalo on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. It is 12.5 inches wide by six inches tall by eight inches front to back and features three distinct Polynesian kapa/tapa patterns on the top, front, and back. The mango in this box is highly figured and varies in color from blonde to chocolate, and the carving looks almost like it was carved out of soapstone. It is finished with a single coat of Danish oil. We can add a topcoat of lacquer or polyurethane in satin or gloss if you'd like. Just select it in the options below. It’s a personal preference, but we love the box as it is. This box was made in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

As with all of the wood we use, the mango in this box was grown and harvested sustainably in Hawaii. The wood we use is either farmed specifically for use in furniture or comes from trees naturally felled or cut for purposes other than the production of lumber. We will never knowingly use wild-harvested wood.
